The Action Taker's Book Club
January – March 2026:
The Surrender Experiment by Michael A. Singer
Say yes to life — and watch what unfolds.
If you’ve ever tried to plan, push, or force your way forward only to find life had other ideas, this book is for you.
Starting Monday 5th January 2026, we’re spending 11 weeks together reading The Surrender Experiment — the true story of what happens when you stop resisting life and start saying yes to it.
Written by Michael A. Singer (author of The Untethered Soul), this memoir follows his unexpected journey from solitude and meditation to building a multimillion-dollar company and learning that surrender doesn’t mean giving up control — it means trusting that life knows exactly where it’s taking you.

We meet on Monday evenings at 8 p.m. UK time, beginning Monday 5 January 2026.

We simply resume the week after.

Why this book — and why now
Many people reach a point where they realise they’ve been carrying too much on their shoulders for too long. They’re tired of doing everything the hard way. They want clarity, peace, direction, and a way of moving through life that doesn’t rely on constant effort and control. The Surrender Experiment speaks directly to that. It shows what becomes possible when you stop gripping so tightly and start engaging with life from a place of trust, presence, and awareness. It isn’t soft, and it isn’t removed from real-world responsibility. It asks you to look honestly at the way you respond to challenges, decisions, opportunities, and uncertainty, and to recognise what it costs you to stay in old patterns.
This book club gives you the structure and the community to take those ideas and apply them to your actual life — your habits, your work, your money, your relationships, your reactions, your energy. When you explore a book like this on your own, it’s easy to understand the concepts but fall back into familiar behaviour. When you walk through it with a group of people who are exploring the same ideas at the same time, the conversation becomes the catalyst. You hear yourself differently. You see yourself differently. You stop avoiding the things you’ve been postponing. You start practising what you’re learning, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Reading a book like this works best when you have the space to think, to talk things through, and to recognise how the ideas show up in your own behaviour. When you have that space every week, and you’re surrounded by people who are exploring the same questions, something shifts. You start to recognise where you’ve been holding tension, where you’ve been overthinking, and where you’ve been trying to control things that don’t need that level of pressure. Through the conversations we have in the group, you begin to see what needs attention in your life and what needs to change, and you start taking steps that actually support you. The work becomes real because you’re applying it in your day-to-day life rather than keeping it in your head. If you want to begin the year feeling clearer, more grounded, and more connected to yourself and your decisions, this book club gives you the environment to do that, and the people to do it alongside.

This is the first time I've ever been in a book club and wasn't sure what to expect. The book we are reading makes us think about how we live and lessons along the way. It's also great to have an amazing group of people who we can learn so much from and share experiences.

How to get the most from a book and truly inspire you!
The way this is structured makes reading a book so much more powerful than reading alone. Sarah has selected powerful books, and creates a relaxed and safe atmosphere, promoting open conversation, and a deeper appreciation of the book.
I feel hugely inspired after each session and it's already showed in my work and personal life.
I recommend this to everyone. Don't dismiss it because you don't know what you're missing!

Sarah's book clubs are great. The books are interesting, they always get you thinking and asking questions. As an avid reader, I get to do what I love, read and learn something new each week as well as meeting up with a great bunch of people.
